Video Submission Guidelines
To submit a video, use the video submission form. On the form, we ask you to fill in details about your video, and about yourself.
You will then be directed to a new window, where we ask you to upload your video file. This procedure is fast and simple and makes it easier for us to receive large files. You will be asked to give your e-mail address twice, this will be used to send confirmation e-mails to you that we have received your submission, and will not be used for any other purposes.
Please repeat the title of your video in the “subject” field when uploading your video.
Video Hosting
The MOCO Project is using a video hosting website to show your video online. We are using the video community site VIMEO for this purpose. VIMEO works just like Youtube but is more sophisticated and puts a big emphasis on respect and non-commercial content. Read more about VIMEO’s guidelines here.
Your videos will be available to everyone who visits the MOCO website, and to everyone who finds it on VIMEO. If you have indicated that you want your video to be credited with your name, your name will NOT appear on VIMEO, unless you ask us specifically. The video will normally be credited as MOCO Project on VIMEO.
BSL video submissions
For those of you who submit BSL videos instead of written contributions or introductions, please ignore the box that asks for longer introductions to your video. Please make sure, however, that it is clear that the video accompanies another contribution by selecting the option “BSL video to accompany other task” at the top of the submission form. Also repeat the same title for all linked contributions.
Copyright
Sharing your video with MOCO means that it is open access and anyone can see it. The copyright of the video is shared between you, your community group and the MOCO project. Vimeo’s Community Guidelines give an explicit outline of their copyright policy. If you require further information on the MOCO project’s copyright policy, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.
File formats
Ideally we would like you to submit your video as a converted .flv (flash video) file. However, if you are unable to do this, please submit your file in MP4 format and we will happily convert for you. Files can be no larger than 2GB. If you have any problems with file formats/sizes or the uploading process, please get in touch and we will help you!
