Submitting Your Material
The Mass Observation Communities Online (MOCO) project allows you to retain the copyright in your contribution. However, by submitting to the MOCO project you agree that the MOCO Project and the Mass Observation Archive, and any future partner or individual that the MOA deems appropriate, are allowed to use your contribution for whatever purpose they deem reasonable, subject to approval by the Board of Trustees of the Mass Observation Archive, a registered charity. As you still retain your copyright, you can continue to use your content as you like including the ability to also allow others to use it.
By agreeing to these terms, you also allow others to use your material to share it, copy it, distribute it and/or transmit it, as long as the user attributes the work in the manner specified within the MOCO Terms and Conditions, the work is used for Non-Commercial purposes and the work is not altered or transformed.
When you share material with the MOCO Project, you must only share your own original content.
If your content clearly identifies anyone else you will need to ensure that they have consented to the content being used by the MOCO Project for the purposes for which you submitted it and/or any other uses by the MOCO Project. Where your content clearly identifies children under the age of 16 you must ensure that their parent or guardian has provided the consent set out above.
The MOCO Project will NOT show your name on the website, nor in any other contexts, unless you give your consent for your contribution to be credited with your name. If you want your contribution credited with your name, tick this option when you submit your contribution.
The MOCO Project also requires that you do not share any content that is defamatory, offensive or unlawful in any way. Any inappropriate content will be rejected or taken down by the MOCO Project. If in doubt, please do not share your content with the MOCO Project.
The MOCO Project will display your contribution on the MOCO website for a minimum of three years. Your submission will also be donated to the Mass Observation Archive to be kept indefinitely.
