Retired female in her 40s living in Llandaff
1. Give your reasons and analyse your motives for living in the district where you do live.
I live here as it is a safe, quiet and friendly environment. It is near enough to the centre of Cardiff to be convenient, and yet far enough way to be peaceful.
Question 2. In what ways do you consider yourself different from your neighbours?
We're probably very similar. They are older than me, but we all have similar backgrounds and values. And everyone is retired. Our main difference is that they love gardening, and I don't!
Question 3. When you go into pubs, which bar do you use and why?
I tend to use what would be termed the Lounge, as it is usually quieter.
Question 4. What priced seats do you use at the cinema and why?
I choose regular seats as it's easier.
Question 5. What forms of food, drink or amusement are thought “infra dig”* or not quite the things in your circles?
Food - Pot Noodles and tv dinners. My veggie friends frown at me eating meat.
Drink - Cider shandy, babycham and instant coffee (I love them all)
Amusement - reality shows on tv and bingo.
Question 6. Are you sensitive on the subject of accent and have you made any attempt to change your own?
I grew up in a new town and so have very little accent. The occasional Welsh lilt comes in, but I like that.
Question 7. Do you make a habit of using the following words and phrases? If not, what is your reaction when they are used by others?
Cheerioh - yes I use this.
Bye bye - yes.
Tooleo - no.
Okay - yes.
Okidoke - yes.
Not half - no.
Ta - yes.
