Jims first day diary. Wednesday 18th August 2010
Written by a 65 year old retired male from Banbury, Oxfordshire.
Written on the 18th August 2010.
Started the day with a cup of tea, then showered, dressed and shaved. Made breakfast and ate while looking at my garden. The sun is shinning and it’s a lovely morning. Washed the dishes, collected my friends car and took to garage for its MOT. Came home and had some tea and cake, before walking around the garden. Picked some ripe tomatoes, which have done well this year.
Collected my friend and took to garage to pick up car which had passed the test and all should be well for another 12 months. Returned home for lunch and then go ready for my colleague to pick me up to travel to Byfield, a small village about 10 miles from Banbury, for bowls match. I play for a team called the ‘Burma Star & Friends, which includes the actual ’Burma Star’ men. Unfortunately his compatriots now find it too difficult to bend and bowl. They enjoy spectating however.
We won the match then came home in a tremendous storm causing flooding everywhere, with the roads awash and where we could have almost needed a boat. Arrived home safely, had late tea and settled down to a well earned evening relaxing and watching TV.
