Diary on Thursday 12th August 2010

Written by a 76 year old retired female from Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Woke up at 7.10, hmmm lovely, about another half hour in bed. Got up at 7.45, put on my dressing gown and went down stairs. Made a cup of tea for me and my husband. Made our breakfast, scrambled eggs on toast. Went upstairs and made the bed then showered. Time to put the bins out – garden and food waste in the brown bin and plastic, cans and paper waste in the blue bin. Put a load of washing in the washing machine.

10.40 Visitors, our son, Steve and grandson Sebastian, have come to see us and have a cup of tea.

12.00 Visitors gone, time to start the dinner, sausage, mash, carrots and peas. Dinner over, wash and tidy up. Morning over.

Afternoon. 1.30 Time to get ready to go to the hairdresser at 2, wash, cut and colour. Linda my hairdresser is very good. Linda and Louise, her assistant, are lovely they look after us old dears so well. Hair done and feeling very smart, I walked into town, do some shopping. Take my camera into Jessop’s to have some photo’s of Bletchley Park developed, for our next meeting at the museum. Went into museum to see if Karey was at work, no luck, but I did see Adela. We had a good chat about things in general. All the staff in the museum are so lovely and helpful.

Caught the bus home (using our free bus pass). Prepare tea, a ham sandwich and a cream scone. Watched the news on TV, followed by Emmerdale, Eastenders, Corrie and Victorian Pharmacy. Went to bed at 10.00, Goodnight.
