37 year old female PA from Saltdean

Question 1. Give your reasons and analyse your motives for living in the district where you do live.

I live in Saltdean in Brighton. I am originally from Birmingham and my husband from Northern Ireland. We met in Birmingham and moved to Brighton as my husband was offered a job here. We chose Saltdean as its such a beautiful place to live, nestled between the South Downs and the sea, its a very peaceful and tranquil environment, yet still within easy reach of Brighton city centre.

Question 2. In what ways do you consider yourself different from your neighbours?

We're younger!

Question 3. When you go into pubs, which bar do you use and why?

I like Northern Lights, its a cosy little bar, everyone is friendly and they play good music.

Question 4. What priced seats do you use at the cinema and why?

I normally pay the bit extra to sit in the nicer seats at the back - more room and its comfier.

Question 5. What forms of food, drink or amusement are thought “infra dig”* or not quite the things in your circles?

The pier is a bit 'infra dig'! It would be better if they themed it to when it was built and the entertainment was less 'catering to the masses'.

Question 6. Are you sensitive on the subject of accent and have you made any attempt to change your own?

I have a Brummie accent and my husband a Northern Irish accent! We both can't do much about either. The brummie accent is percieved that you are a bit thick and then N. Irish accent that you're a thug - so we're a great combo!!

Question 7. Do you make a habit of using the following words and phrases? If not, what is your reaction when they are used by others? Cheerioh, Bye-bye, Tooleoo, Okay, Okidoke, Not half, Ta (for thank you), Old Boy, chum, pal, mate.

I use 'mate' and 'OK'
